Michelle Cross is obsessed with her music. "I [play and write music] all the time. When I don't have a job I'm playing 14 hours a day. When I do have a job I play 4 or 5 hours a day. I have to do it everyday… as much as I can squeeze in." She describes her songs as therapeutic and very personal. "It's like my journal" although she admits she likes to "steal shoes" a lot.
Sprinkled with classical influences and firmly supported by strong vocals, Cross's songs tend to have a darker moodier feel to them. At times, there is a lot of aggression and rhythm in her piano playing, yet even at its most gentle moments her powerfully emotional and melodic piano-based songs have caused listeners to sit-up and pay attention." My 8 worldly listeners...
You GUYS!!! I just got your darling, DARLING card!! It warmed my heart like hot cocoa...awww. I have propped it up as the center piece on my "main" table. You guys are truly the nicest bunch of folks I have encountered, and I thank you from here to infinity for your support!! How I WISH I could be more "out there". Regular life SO gets in the way! Matty Poo and I have had countless dinner meetings, scheming up ways to get THE recording into the works... I think we're getting closer to actually "doing" with each dinner. This week, we discussed the studio we will be using for the new record. In the meantime, I'm writing tunes that are shinier than the tunes I had originally planned for the new record... I don't know what's going to happen! I will keep you posted!! I hope something happens soon :(
Let's all tell Matty Poo to get on it!! (Matty Poo, you know I treasure you).
