Biography
Michelle Cross is obsessed with her music. "I [play and write music] all the time. When I don't have a job I'm playing 14 hours a day. When I do have a job I play 4 or 5 hours a day. I have to do it everyday… as much as I can squeeze in." She describes her songs as therapeutic and very personal. "It's like my journal" although she admits she likes to "steal shoes" a lot.
Sprinkled with classical influences and firmly supported by strong vocals, Cross's songs tend to have a darker moodier feel to them. At times, there is a lot of aggression and rhythm in her piano playing, yet even at its most gentle moments her powerfully emotional and melodic piano-based songs have caused listeners to sit-up and pay attention." We're all installed and settling in to the new hosting provider. Everyone give GoDaddy.com an assortment of sugary sweets, sugar-free for the diabetics, maybe some vegetarian/vegan goodies, and tell them how much you love them for letting us get the site up with the greatest of ease.April 11, 2006

The only thing that may be an issue is mail. We may not have mail right away, but I'll work on it and have it fixed by the end of this weekend. *crosses fingers*
The Site
Look, here's my thing: I love this site. I love it. And because I love it--because I love the artist, the music, the people who come here--I want to warn you that it may disappear for a day or two. I said it may. You may think "may" is a flippant word, but I say it with a fist to emphasize the point I'm trying to make here.
The site is in the process of switching to a new hosting company. To do that it needs to switch nameservers (can I hear a "hallelujah" or a loud "hells yeah" from those who know what I'm talking about?). Nameserver changing can take up to 48 hours. Some of you may see it down before others. Then again, maybe not. I'm hoping to get to it soon enough to update the new hosting provider with the domain's html and mp3 goodies.
Maybe when school is over for me this summer I'll focus on a redesign. Maybe now is when you can email me at brianna @ shaking the void . net to let me know what you'd like to see. And when it's back up, all cozy at the new residence, we'll talk some more about getting those boards up and running.
